After working in corporate America for 20 years, I finally took the leap to entrepreneurship and bought a business. It’s an incredible experience and is definitely the road less traveled, and it has provided an exceptional life for me and my family.
But, there was no guidance about how to buy a business. It’s not like buying a house, where an entire infrastructure arises to support the transaction. Buying a business is mostly a DIY endeavor for the buyer. So how did I find businesses, evaluate them, negotiate, and close the deal? Well, I built the methodology for it myself.
I took my years in management consulting at Deloitte, my software implementation experience, and my expertise leading a Business Development team at a venture-backed startup. I overlayed everything I learned from my MBA program at Wharton, and I built a methodology to share it with others.
